Working With Me
I use a flexible approach that draws from different types of therapy, allowing me to tailor our work to what feels most helpful for you.
Relational Psychodynamic
This way of working focuses on how early relationships shape who we are and how we relate to others. Our early experiences can influence patterns in our thoughts, feelings, and relationships later in life, sometimes without us realising. In therapy, we gently explore these patterns together, helping you build greater understanding, emotional awareness, and healthier ways of relating — both to yourself and to others.
Person-centred
A person-centred approach means therapy is led by you and focuses on your sense of self and lived experience. I aim to offer a warm, genuine, and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, accepted, and understood. Feeling accepted within the therapeutic relationship can help you develop greater self-acceptance and trust in yourself.
IFS or Parts work
I sometimes work with the idea that we all have different “parts” of ourselves — for example, a part that feels anxious, protective, or vulnerable. In therapy, we may gently give space to these parts so they can be heard and understood, rather than pushed away. By approaching these parts with curiosity and compassion, it can help bring greater clarity, balance, and a stronger sense of wholeness.
CBT
The CBT approach looks at how your thoughts, emotions, and actions influence one another. Together, we may gently explore patterns of thinking that feel unhelpful or self-critical and consider alternative ways of responding that feel more balanced and kinder. Where helpful, I can offer practical tools to support you in everyday life. The aim is to help you feel more flexibility, self-compassion, and choice in how you navigate challenges.
Training approaches include: Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment-based Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Existential Therapy
